Northeastern wins the Beanpot hockey tournament.

Northeastern beats Boston College 5-4 in overtime to win the school’s first Beanpot title before 14,456 at Boston Garden. Wayne Turner scores the winning goal for Northeastern, which, for the first 27 years of the tournament, was known as “the team that played at 6:15” (the starting time of the consolation game).
